The Colombes, or doves, were commission work through Pierrot’s quarry, and carved there. There was an error in measurement of the first stone, the first larger one was 1.5 meters wide, so a second stone was cut to the 1 meter wide size the client had requested. Two of these was enough, no matter how easily they came out of the block!
