Eveil

Continuing with figurative stone work.

Fascinated with the French idea of “eveil” – a person’ first awakening to life. The adjective form of the word is used to describe how aware an infant is of the world around her. This paralleled a fascination with the Italian depiction of putti as ageless, babe-small, but facially and gesturally adult. Another example of a kind of mixing of genre.
