Two Friends Sandstones

This 2-piece sculpture is about the continual exchange of roles played out in a relationship. The push-pull, give-take dance that when done with grace makes a new whole of the separate characters. Such were some of the thoughts and intentions of the non-representational work I had been doing prior to this, and would do afterwards.
Paul Pilkonis and Elaine Portner had commissioned a piece; carved at their house in February, the sandstone was from an architectural reclaim place, so probably local to the Pittsburgh area.
